Jewish philosopher and physician who integrated Aristotelian philosophy with Jewish law and theology. His Guide for the Perplexed addressed intellectual challenges to faith while his Mishneh Torah systematized Jewish practice. Served as court physician while leading Sephardic Jewish community in Egypt.
